SENSOR+TEST 2023: With new momentum into the future

11 May 2023

After three exciting exhibition days, the exhibitors of SENSOR+TEST 2023 as well as the organizer AMA Service GmbH draw a thoroughly positive conclusion of the event. More than 5,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad found their way to the Nuremberg exhibition halls and thus about 20 percent more than in the previous year. With 338 exhibitors, the number of exhibitors was slightly below that of the previous year, whereby the proportion of exhibitors from abroad has again increased significantly with 40 percent. The SENSOR+TEST has thus once again confirmed its position as the leading international event for sensor, measuring and testing technology.

After three eagerly awaited days, the measurement technology fair SENSOR+TEST closed its doors. 338 exhibitors, over 5,000 visitors and almost 700 participants in the SMSI 2023 - Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference - found their way to Nuremberg and contributed to the success of an intensive innovation dialog on an exhibition area of 5,400 m2.

"There was an atmosphere of optimism in the halls, because the exhibitors were happy to meet face-to-face, especially with customers and business partners from all over the world. Future-oriented topics such as energy efficiency, climate protection, sustainability and artificial intelligence were at the top of the list of the many technical discussions, in addition to everyday tasks," says organiser Holger Bödeker, pleased with the good response. The past three days of the fair have shown that the significantly increased number of visitors could again make a big step towards the years before Corona. "Although the fair presented itself somewhat smaller due to the still difficult general conditions, it was able to convince with the very high proportion of highly qualified trade visitors and a concrete and intensive exchange of ideas," was the positive summary.

With 133 exhibiting companies from 26 countries, the international popularity returned to the values of the time before Corona, as did the proportion of visitors from all over the world with 27%.

SENSOR+TEST 2023 has succeeded in sending an important signal to the industry. "Our special thanks go, of course, to our exhibitors and visitors, who have again placed their trust in us this year," says Elena Schultz, authorized signatory of AMA Service GmbH.

The satisfaction of the exhibitors is also confirmed by Jan Tippner, Sales Manager at Delphin Technology AG: "How important trade fairs are for the industry was clearly demonstrated at SENSOR+TEST. The mood was extremely positive and we were able to hold many interesting discussions."

The action program this year included a job lounge for the first time. On two days exhibitors of the SENSOR+TEST presented themselves to an interested audience with their topics around human resources. The program was rounded off by the job market and the career center, so that the topic of recruiting was given a larger place at the fair. The "Job Lounge" offered a new format that was intended to enable even more targeted contacts between skilled workers and companies. "The SENSOR+TEST is the ideal platform for this and we will continue to expand our supporting offers for coping with the shortage of skilled workers in the coming years, because it is our duty to actively mediate and bring together the important players," explains Elena Schultz.

For the sixteenth time, young companies presented their new developments to the interested public at the sponsored joint stand "Innovation Made in Germany".

SMSI 2023 for the first time in Nuremberg

From 8 - 11 May 2023, the SMSI 2023 - Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference - took place for the first time as a live event in Nuremberg, and brought together national and international representatives from research, science, industry and government institutions. "The SMSI 2023 not only offered an excellent platform for the exchange of the latest research results, but was also convincing with top-class lectures, poster sessions or the Science Slam," the conference director Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schmid (TU Vienna) is enthusiastic.

SENSOR+TEST 2024: Two conferences and increased application orientation

Next year, SENSOR+TEST will be held in Nuremberg from 11 to 13 June 2024. "We are again planning with two complete halls. But more than that: we want to expand the exhibition with an application area and various themed areas, where visitors can obtain even more targeted information," says Elena Schultz.

The successful series of conferences will also be continued. The 22. GMA/ITG- Fachtagung "Sensoren und Messsysteme 2024" and the ettc2024 European Test and Telemetry Conference will ideally complement the SENSOR+TEST.

The SENSOR+TEST continues

The SENSOR+TEST 2023 will continue its digital innovation communication also after the exhibition days. Thus, until the end of the year, interested parties will find a whole range of innovations and topics presented at the fair as well as new products and technologies on the SENSOR+TEST website. "With the regular newsletters, which draw attention to the technologies offered by exhibitors, as well as via the social media channels, in which there is continuous and up-to-date reporting, we round off the offer of our hybrid event", explains Holger Bödeker.
