Coded safety switch PSENcode: Economical position monitoring – One sensor for three positions

21 June 2012

Pilz has added a new product type to its range of coded safety switches PSENcode. The new coded safety switch provides safe monitoring of up to three positions in accordance with up to PL e of EN ISO 13489-1 and SIL CL 3 of EN/IEC 62061. The coded safety switch also undertakes safe position detection. As a result, only one safe sensor is required for position monitoring. No additional sensors are needed and the number of safe inputs on the evaluation device are reduced, making the new product type PSENcode an economical solution.

Diagnostics are quick and user-friendly via LED display, for both the compact and the large design. Thanks to the connection type (M12 connector, 5-pin), the new PSENcode is open for any system environment.

Thanks to the non-contact action principle, PSENcode units have a long product service life, providing increased investment protection. PSENcode are flexible to install, as the sensors and actuators support all actuation and approach directions.

When combined with the configurable safety relays PNOZmulti Mini, the configurable control systems PNOZmulti and the programmable control systems PSS, the result is a safe, complete solution comprising control and sensor tecnology.
