New low NETD infrared arrays with 82x62 elements for low cost thermal imaging

29 May 2014

Heimann Sensor added another model to its family of infrared arrays. The new array with 82x62 elements and high thermal resolution broadens up the existing portfolio of thermopile arrays with 8x8, 16x4 and 32x31 elements. Two different optics can be offered for the new array. The frame rate reaches up to 9 Hz. At room temperature and 9 Hz the NETD (noise equivalent temperature difference) is only 115 mK. The left picture shows the veins in a forearm.

The small size of our arrays together with a high volume low cost packaging technology opens new applications like remote temperature control for industrial processes and temperature measurements with mobile or handheld devices. These arrays can be used for person detection, person counting, hot spot detection for fire prevention and to measure all kind of thermal leakages.

All arrays come with integrated optics. They are available as sensor or as calibrated module with different interfaces. For all modules we offer application sets that can be operated on a standard PC. The application set software displays the infrared image on your PC in different color schemes. Measurements can be made in voltage mode or in temperature mode. The user can also place a line in the image display and obtain the temperature profile along this line or get an alarm function, when an upper or lower temperature limit is exceeded.
