Handheld Device for fiber optic measurement FOTEMP - 2015 Redesign

Handheld Device for fiber optic measurement FOTEMP - 2015 Redesign

02 April 2015

Compact

Robust and compact – these properties allow the FOTEMP1-Handheld thermometer to exist in environments, which require user mobility and fast results. For this purpose the newly developed Design meets advanced modern technology as well as a handy and lightweight housing.
Equipped with a powerful and recharchable battery, which keeps the system activated up to 30 hours, it is an ideal device for mobile work assignments without the hassle of power supplies and connecting cables.

Innovative

The advanced measurement method using a gallium arsenid-crystal guarantees an accurate and instant temperature measurement. Starting at a light wave length of 850nm GaAs (gallium arsenide) becomes optical translucent. Since the position of the band gap is temperature dependent, it shifts about 0.4nm/Kelvin. The fiber optic measuring device determines, by using a light source and a device for the spectral detection of the band gap, the change of the temperature.

The outer jacket of the fiber optic temperature sensors is made out of teflon, at the sensor tip a GaAs-crystal is attached. The probe sensor is completely non-conductive.

A variable offer of interfaces (RS232, RS485, Ethernet, Micro-USB, Micro-SD) allows in combination with the provided software „FOTEMP-Assistent“ a reliable real-time data acquisition, which gives the possibility for an excellent monitoring of the measurement results.

Inspiring

Temperature can be measured in high electromagnetic interfered environment, in microwave fields and other environments, where measurement with electric temperature sensors is not possible.

The redesign of the single-channel handheld signal conditioner provides with its new integrated touch display an unique and intuitive user interface. The ergonomic shape ensures a comfortable grip.

The FOTEMP1-H convinces by the latest technic and a modern design for a mobile, flexible and precise measurement adventure. The official product launch is coming soon at Sensor+Test 2015.
