Simple, precise and economical measurement of compressive and tensile forces

High-precision measurement of compressive and tensile forces is possible with the new S9M force transducer from HBM.

The transducer works with strain gages (SG) and is extremely accurate, thanks to its so-called S-type geometry.

This gives the S9M an accuracy class of 0.02, which is a great improvement compared to its predecessor the S9, which had an accuracy class of 0.05. Compensation for parasitic influences, such as lateral forces or bending moments, is excellent, and measurement reliability improves accordingly.

Integrating the transducer into an application is correspondingly simple.

The transducer is also impervious to the effects of temperature, even for temperature gradients. The S9M is available with different nominal (rated) force ranges, from 500 N to 50 kN.

The strain gages are hermetically integrated into the measuring body, and are safely protected. Because the material used is stainless steel, and the degree of protection is high (IP68), the transducer can also be used under adverse ambient conditions.

Mechanically, the transducer is fully compatible with its predecessor the S9, so there is no problem in continuing to use all the accessories, and the old model can easily be replaced with the new S9M.

As an OEM product, the S9M is suitable for various applications. These can typically be found in test benches and testing machines, in hardness testers and in experimental work.

Thanks to its enhanced accuracy class of 0.02, the transducer can help to improve relevant products. At the same time, OEM customers benefit from a very attractive price-performance ratio.
