digiCLIP from HBM – the universal industrial amplifier for strain gage sensors with an integrated DeviceNet interface

HBM: Add this to the already possible CAN and Profibus interfaces and you have digital amplifiers that can be integrated into any automation environment with leading fieldbus systems.

Typically, digiCLIP amplifiers from HBM are used for process monitoring in industrial plants, where they acquire process variables such as pressure, force or torque and make them available to a downstream control.

There is now a digiCLIP module version available with a DeviceNet interface.

The interface has been developed strictly in accordance with the standard specified by ODVA, ensuring that its integration into the relevant automation systems is trouble-free.

The amplifiers support TEDS, the electronic data sheet, which allows the connected transducer to be automatically detected and the digiCLIP parameterized. This saves valuable configuration and commissioning time.

Further assistance comes from the user-friendly parameterization software, which is included in the scope of supply. Because the measured values are transferred digitally, interference immunity is excellent.

This is highly significant, particularly in industrial environments. The integrated microprocessor provides rapid processing of measured values with peak value detection, as well as fast-acting limit value switches that respond in milliseconds.

A variety of monitoring and control tasks can be resolved in this way, and by easing the burden on peripheral control, production cycle times can be reduced. The compact modules are simply mounted on a DIN rail in the control cabinet, ideal for combining with the usual control hardware.
