Optimized transducer electronics make scales faster

Optimized transducer electronics make scales faster

20 December 2012

The measurement technology specialist HBM is presenting a new version of its digital transducer electronics for weighing technology with the AED9101D.

The AED transducer electronics process signals from strain gage full bridge transducers directly in situ, making them digitally available via various interfaces, such as Profibus, Devicenet or RS232/422/485, free from interference and even over greater distances.

In the new version, heat production has been reduced to a quarter within the electronics so that a thermally stable state is rapidly reached after switching on. This means that the weighing technology application is ready for operation significantly more rapidly. An automatic weighing instrument reaches the legal for trade operation state almost twice as fast. Another advantage is that the maximum number of load cells per transducer electronics is no longer dependent on the supply voltage.

The AED9101D can be used in various applications. Typical examples are batching scales, check weighers, filling scales and many more static or dynamic scales.
