Reaction Torque Sensors for Automotive Engine Accessory Testing

22 June 2006

June 22, 2006, Depew, NY, USA – The Force/Torque Division of PCB® Piezotronics, Inc. offers a series of strain-gage reaction torque sensors for torque measurements on accessories such as Starters, Alternators, Air Conditioning Compressors, Power Steering Gearboxes, and Water Pumps. Series 2300 and 2500 reaction torque sensors feature high torsional stiffness, flange mounting, and are available in full-scale capacities from 5 to 500 k in-lb (0.56 to 56.5 k N-m). Other applications include testing of brake torque, bearing friction small motor dynamometers, pumps, stepping switch torque, and fluid viscosity.

Units are supplied with a shunt calibration resistor. Calibration is traceable to NIST and is performed in PCB’s metrology laboratory, which is ISO 17025 accredited by A2LA.
