Very small High-Precision Torque Measuring Flange for test rig applications

12 February 2008

Manner Sensortelemetrie developed a new very compact, high-precision torque sensor with telemetric transmission on digital basis with 16 bits resolution. The main applications are in high qualified test rigs. The torque sensing is based on the very accurate strain gages technology. The typical accuracy (linearity and hysteresis) is of 0,05%. Special features are the short length, high stiffness, no bearing and small signal pick up with air gap up to 20 mm.

A very small temperature drift within the temperature range of –35 to +125°C and a very high total accuracy of up to 0,1% FSO is characteristic. The mounting dimension of a 1kNm torque measuring flange is 45 mm. Therefore the flange can easily be integrated into an existing system. Flanges are available from 20 Nm up to 400 kNm. Alternate digital interfaces like CAN, USB are available.
