Modally Tuned® ICP® Impact Hammers for Modal Analysis & Structural Testing Applications

June 27, 2006, Depew, NY, USA– The Vibration Division of PCB® Piezotronics, Inc. offers Modally Tuned® impact hammers for modal analysis; structural testing and automotive design; impulse and response; resonance determination; laboratory design test evaluation; and civil structure health determinations.

PCB Modally Tuned® impact hammers have been proven over thousands of requirements. Their design has been refined, though the selection of materials of construction, to deliver consistent, accurate results. This “modal tuning” of the hammer structure eliminates hammer resonances from corrupting the test data, resulting in more accurate results. Modally Tuned® impact hammers are also available in kits, which include ICP® accelerometers, signal conditioning, and all accessories to begin testing with FFT analyzers or data acquisition workstations. These are comprised of matched components, tuned for testing structures within certain size and weight categorizations. In addition, a selection of tips are included with each hammer which, along with an extender mass, allow the hammer to be tailored for the desired frequency content of the impulse force waveform of the structure under test.
