Miniature Valves Offer Non-Elastomeric Versions for Use with Corrosive Fluids

16 October 2006

Sensortechnics presents Parker Life Sciences' miniature X-ValveĀ® series which now offers new models for improved media compatibility. These new non-elastomeric versions use a metal-to-metal seal and are ideally suited for applications with aggressive and corrosive fluids that will damage elastomeric seals.

X-Valve's are 2-way or 3-way solenoid valves providing high flow rates at pressures up to 7 bar (100 psi). Their single piece PBT bodies feature only 8 mm centreline spacings and are capable of being mounted on printed circuit boards. The X-Valve series offers barbed pressure ports which allow for direct tubing connections or manifold assemblies. Due to their simple design with reduced valve parts these devices ensure high reliability and response times of less than 20 ms cycling. X-Valve's offer excellent leak specifications which are met over the entire lifetime of the valves.

Important features of the X-Valve series are:

  • 2-way or 3-way switching solenoid valves
  • New non-elastomeric versions for improved media compatibility
  • High flow rates at pressures up to 7 bar (100 psi)
  • Single piece PBT bodies with only 8 mm centreline spacings
  • Response times of less than 20 ms cycling and superior leak specifications

The X-Valve series can help to significantly reduce system size in many industrial, medical and analytical OEM devices. Typical applications of the new non-elastomeric versions include ink supply systems and fuel feed systems for fuel cells.
