Mobile, high-precision calibration and testing device
Manual and automatic measurements for calibrating sensors, measuring amplifiers and displays
For regular maintenance and system calibration of sensors on presses and assembly lines in the field, service and calibration technicians rely on high-precision, mobile test devices. The TRANS CAL 7281 from burster, a mobile, field-tested, high-precision calibration and testing device for mechanical and electrical variables, is the Swiss army knife for service technicians. It is suitable for calibrating and function testing potentiometer or strain gauge sensors, for force, torque, displacement or pressure measurement. Together with a sensor, the device can also be used as a reference measuring chain. In addition to manual operation, the current version offers 16 programs for the flexible configuration of different sensors. Sensor parameters are automatically adopted for devices with burster TEDS. Connected to a PC via a USB interface, the device can be used for live measurements in static or slow dynamic processes, e.g. for long-term monitoring in the field. With an internal measuring rate of 1200/s, an automatic trigger function and a memory of up to 30,000 measured values, the device can also be used independently to record rare, short events. This means that the historical course of events can be precisely documented during use. The data can be transferred to a PC or notebook for precise system analysis. The Plus version also offers strain gauge simulation, a precision voltage source for automated testing or calibration of devices such as sensor amplifiers or display electronics as well as the zero-point and calibration step sensor test functions. A Wheatstone full-bridge simulator for compensation of measuring amplifiers and a high-precision voltage source from 0 to 10 V DC further extend the range of applications. With a non-linearity of measurements below 0.001 %, a compact housing and all additional parts that affect precision, such as test cables and connectors, it belongs in the mobile service equipment.
Practical design
The device is secured in a robust aluminum frame against drops and impacts (Fig. 2) for rough everyday testing in the field. Predefined command sets, e.g. for amplifier test with 1:100 or ramp measurement 0-50-100 %, enable sensors and measuring amplifiers to be calibrated quickly. Presets for specific sensors as well as an optional DAkkS/manufacturer calibration certificate for the device or the entire measuring chain are available. The replaceable battery cells can also be replaced by readily available alkaline batteries in an emergency; the rechargeable battery and power supply unit are included in the scope of delivery. An optional aluminum case is available, which allows the user to stow components in it and transport them to the place of use in a protected manner.
