Xsens 10 Years in Motion!

04 February 2010

Xsens, a leading manufacturer of sensor units for motion, orientation and position measurement, celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2010. One of the celebration activities is an exclusive customer event at Oceanology International 2010 in London, at which the 10,000th Motion Tracker will be handed over to one of Xsens most respected customers.

Xsens’ motion sensors are integrated in various customer applications in the maritime industry. Since many years, Xsens has strong relations with customers such as CodaOctopus, Sonardyne, Kongsberg and Saab. ‘Our motion sensors are designed for those applications which require a small size and an attractive price’, says Casper Peeters, CEO of Xsens. ‘At the same time, our customers expect accuracy levels higher than the performance of typical MEMS devices and approaching that of costly fiber-optic gyro systems. Our MEMS based motion sensors meet those demands thanks to sophisticated on-board processing algorithms. They are a perfect fit for application in various underwater vehicles and hydrographic instruments, which is demonstrated by many of our customers in this industry. Therefore it was an easy choice to select Oceanology International as the venue for the first in a series of celebration events worldwide’.

Xsens’ 10th anniversary lunch will be held at Oceanology International 2010 in London Excel. Xsens will be exhibiting at booth H-450 and at the second exhibition day it will host an exclusive lunch for selected customers and partners. During this lunch, customers will speak about their products, in which the MTi or MTi-G is integrated for control, stabilization or dynamics measurement.

In addition, Xsens is proud to announce that the 10,000th Motion Tracker will be handed over to one of Xsens’ most valued customers at the celebration lunch. Thousands of Motion Trackers have been manufactured and supplied to our customers in the past years, many of them for integration in equipment such as underwater acoustic positioning and imaging systems, underwater vehicles and surface vessels.

Besides the event at Oceanology International 2010 in London, Xsens will host more events at Xsens' offices and targeted exhibitions and conferences for the other market segments served by Xsens. These will take place in The Netherlands, Miami and Los Angeles.
