Presses: Long-term economy and safety

Presses: Long-term economy and safety

21 April 2012

Ostfildern, Apr 2, 2012. At the Hannover Messe Industrie 2012, Pilz is exhibiting solutions for safety-related equipment, retrofits and safe operation of presses.

With the safe electronic rotary cam arrangement in the automation system PSS 4000 from Pilz, users can enter parameters such as start angle and run-up cam within the program. There's no need for any mechanical adjustments. The solution consists of the control system PSSuniversal PLC, the rotary encoder PSENenco and special software press blocks.

For safe monitoring of press brakes Pilz offers the camera-based protection and measuring system PSENvip, which detects even the smallest foreign bodies within the danger zone. In combination with the automation system PSS 4000 it is possible to increase productivity by up to 30 per cent thanks to dynamic muting.

On presses, the service life of the mechanics exceeds that of the control system or drive. After a retrofit from Pilz involving the latest electrical, control and safety technology, presses can once again meet long-term quality and productivity requirements.

Pilz is exhibiting in Hall 9, Stand D17.
