Christian Lindner "Politics must strengthen medium-size enterprises" – FDP head Lindner visits Pilz

11 December 2015

The automation company Pilz in Ostfildern received a visit from the federal chairman of the FDP, Christian Lindner, on 11. November 2015. The focus of the visit was the open exchange of experiences between the family business and the Liberal Democrats. Christian Lindner was accompanied by the FDP Landtag candidates for Ludwigsburg (Stefanie Knecht) and Esslingen (Erdal Özdogan).

Thomas Pilz, managing partner of Pilz GmbH & Co. KG, introduced the family business and its key data. Christian Lindner was particularly impressed by the high R&D quote of the automation company: Pilz invests around 20 per cent of the turnover (2014: 259 Mio EUR) in Research and Development. Lindner stressed that the medium-sized, often family-run companies are the backbone of economy. The objective of politics must be to support these companies so that new jobs are created.

When there is talk about the economy, not only the employer is meant; "are all of us are economy", Lindner continued. Companies, employees and the society as a whole benefit from a healthy economy.

Pilz is aware of their social responsibility, said Thomas Pilz. "We are not only a family-run business because we are family-owned. Pilz is defined by its staff."
