HBM celebrates calibration milestones

HBM celebrates calibration milestones

15 March 2008

HBM has celebrated two simultaneous milestones of its calibration work; the company has achieved 30 years service as an official DKD calibration laboratory and issued its 20,000th calibration certificate.

DKD calibration certificates provide guaranteed proof of traceability to National Standards as required by, for example, ISO 9000 and ISO 17025. Calibrations undertaken by DKD accredited laboratories ensure that test results meet the highest standards of safety and reliability particularly in respect of quality management.

It was just five years ago that HBM issued its 10,000th calibration certificate underlining the enormous growth and increased importance of calibration services.

The 20,000th DKD certificate was issued to ZF-Passau GmbH during a ceremony held at HBM’s head office in Darmstadt, Germany. ZF-Passau uses force and torque transducers and amplifier systems from HBM; these are calibrated in Darmstadt at regular intervals.

HBM’s calibration laboratory was established in 1977 as the first German Calibration Service (DKD) accredited laboratory.
