Video endoscope - Weak point analysis in visual inspection

30 July 2012

Together with the new five-inch monitor and a high-resolution image sensor, the TOPLINE video endoscope from MICRO-EPSILON Eltrotec permit new insights into the interior of large gear units in wind turbines, pipes and cavities without prior disassembly.

Thanks to working probes measuring 4, 6 and 8 mm in diameter, each with 4x130° articulation of the probe tip and a large field of view, they are also ideally suitable for inspection jobs in confined and harsh work environments. The new image sensor and the increased resolution of the monitor allow highly accurate images to be displayed in brilliant colors and saved as pictures or video clips on an SD card. Working lengths from 1.5 to 6 meters with a sharp focal range up to 50 mm are available. An integral glass fiber bundle provides highly efficient illumination of the inspection site. A high-performance light source powered by a rechargeable battery or an adaptable xenon light source can be used for the respective inspection job. All buttons can now be operated with one hand. Features such as various languages, a zoom function, and integrated operation of the memory function for individual images or video sequences directly on the handle greatly simplify handling, even at locations with difficult working conditions.

The video endoscope is delivered as a complete set in an aluminum case with charger, LED light source, spare rechargeable battery and 90° mirror head. The inspection of weld seams and large gear units and the detection of cavities and voids in castings form just part of the large working spectrum for visual inspection.
