Breakthrough in miniaturized Infrared Arrays

HEIMANN SENSOR launches the World’s smallest 8x8 and 32x32 Thermopile Arrays with digital signal processing on chip!

Heimann Sensor is offering a wide range of thermopile arrays with different number of sensitive elements and in various package sizes. Each sensor type can be combined with a set of different optics.

Now Heimann Sensor launches two new members of the thermopile array family:

The new 8x8 mini pixel array is the world’s first IR Array that fits inside a TO46 housing. This sensor is having an integrated EEPROM with a memory size of 256 words. Due to the digital I²C interface the sensor can be operated with a 3+1 pin layout. This miniature array comes with a lens that results in a full field of view of 20°.

In parallel Heimann Sensor developed a new, small 32x32 thermopile array that fits into a TO39 housing. This array also has a fully digital I²C interface and can be calibrated. The calibration data will be stored in an internal EEPROM. HTPA 32x32 will be available with 5 different integrated lenses, L2.1, L2.85, L3.6, L5.0 or L7.0, which results in field of view options for the 32 elements ranging from 90° to 23°.

First prototypes of the new arrays will be presented at the upcoming Sensor and Test Show in May. Applications include all kind of remote temperature measurement – even in smart phones - fever detection from distance, industrial process control, home appliance, person detection and security, office automation, HVAC, IoT, hot spot and fire detection.

Heimann Sensor GmbH

Heimann Sensor is a well known manufacturer of infrared sensors and modules. Main applications are remote temperature measurement and gas detection in industrial, medical, automotive and consumer markets. For several years we have been developing a family of thermopile array sensors starting from very small number of elements for spatial temperature measurement up to imaging infrared arrays with 82x62 elements.
