Colour measurement system ensures correct application of protective film

Micro-Epsilon: The company "Schüco" produces, among other things, windows and uses a measurement system during the production of PVC window frames that checks on the basis of colour differences if the protective film has been applied correctly.

After extrusion, the PVD profiles are provided with a protective film in order to protect them against scratches and dirt. The colorCONTROL ACS7000 spectral colour measurement system checks if the film has been applied correctly. As the film is transparent, the colour of the window frames shines through the film. The transparent film alters the colour of the window frame. A slight change in colour of ∆E = 0.1 is used for film recognition. The colorCONTROL ACS7000 colour measurement system identifies the slightest colour differences via spectral comparison, and so ensures that no profile leaves the extrusion line without having a film applied.
