IMI Sensors New ICP® Accelerometer Alarm Transmitter for Monitoring Unbalance and Misalignment on Motors, Pump Sets and Other Rotating Equipment

IMI Sensors New ICP® Accelerometer Alarm Transmitter for Monitoring Unbalance and Misalignment on Motors, Pump Sets and Other Rotating Equipment

31 October 2007

October 4, 2007, Depew, NY, USA – The new Model 682A08 Vibration Transmitter from the IMI Sensors division of PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) is an all-encompassing ICP® accelerometer signal conditioner, complete with dual semiconductor relay alarms and 4-20 mA signal transmission, for continuous monitoring of critical machinery. The product’s versatility makes it ideal for monitoring unbalance and misalignment on motors, pump sets and other rotating equipment. This module provides excitation power for industry standard 100 mV/g (10.2 mV/(m/s2)) ICP® accelerometers, and has the capability to integrate the signal into velocity. The product comes standard with selectable low pass filters at 1k Hz or 10k Hz, and high pass filters at 3 Hz or 10 Hz.

Model 682A08 retransmits an acceleration or velocity signal as a 4-20 mA signal for trending and simple interface with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. It also outputs the raw vibration signal from an accelerometer for frequency analysis and system diagnostics. It is DIN rail mounted, 24 VDC powered, and is an economical solution for ICP® signal conditioning and alarming, in a simple, compact design.
