Bar code reader series BCL 31/32/34 – for greater vision!

Leuze: The proven bar code reader series BCL 3x has just got even better, benefiting from a number of innovative production technologies and on-going technological development. One new feature is the F lens, a special lens permitting greater ranges of up to 100 mm (module-dependent).

All the highlights which have traditionally distinguished this bar code reader series are still very much in place. Holding an outstanding market track record for over six years already is bar code reader BCL 34 with integrated PROFIBUS. The benfits in concrete terms:

  • Direct, simple parameterization directly via PROFIBUS
  • Extremely low mounting depth
  • Low reading distance and high depth of field
  • Full PROFIBUS transmission rate of 12 Mbit/s
  • No gateway required
  • Plug and play

In large-scale logistics centres designed for high speed and high throughput which are networked using PROFIBUS, these technical advantages translate into major customer benefits. The BCL 34 bar code reader makes available the maximum PROFIBUS data transmission rate of 12 Mbit/s for data acquisition across the entire material flow. Direct data flow between the bar code reader and PROFIBUS master ensures that the entire performance capacity of the bar code reader can be fully utilized in logistical applications requiring extreme high-speed response behaviour: The entire conveyed material is marked using bar codes and scanned in front of every decision point and at all order picking stations. The data is made immediately available to the system via the PROFIBUS.

Other benefits for customers using the PROFIBUS bar code scanner include extreme high-speed communication, simple, time-saving parameterization directly via the PROFBUS master, and a minimum scanning distance. This allows the compact BCL 34 scanner to be mounted at any optional location without any restrictions in terms of minimum distances from the conveyed product. This benefit opens up scope for highly economical conveying system layouts.
