ATEX Approved Torque Flange

For explosive environments Manner Sensortelemetrie offers different types of torque measuring flanges. Standard and customized contact free measurement systems are made in accordance with the European Regulations EN 60079 0:2009, EN 60079 11:2007 and EN 61241 11:2007. The systems are certificated as:

• II 2G Ex ib IIC T4 Gb X for gases and
• II 2D Ex ib IIIC 180°C Db X for dusts.

Typical applications for ATEX systems are torque measurements on machines. The advantage of ATEX approved torque flanges is that they can be integrated directly between driveshaft and machine in explosive environments. This method makes it possible to measure firsthand accurate values, without using any complex calculation and aids to optimize the machine.

Manner Sensortelemetrie developed a new process for the potting operation of modules and antennas. The new design of the electronic and antenna allows to adhere to II 2G EX ib IIC T4 Gb X. The meas¬urement range goes up to 150 kNm and for II 2G EX ib IIB T4 Gb X up to 1 MNm.

The distance between receiver and stator antenna can be 100 m. The digital data are secured with a CRC code (cyclic redun-dancy check). This is essential for transmission in rough environments. For more information see www.sensortelemetrie.de
