Manner Sensortelemetrie developed a new flexible sensor signal amplifier for strain gage or temperature measurement applications. It is based on a flexible PCB and allows applications in narrowed installations. The reliable RMC technique for programming online gain and zero point has a resolution of 16 Bit and is stored in a non-volatile memory on the rotor. There is no need to solder miniature resistors for conditioning the amplifier. For documentation all conditioning data as well as the serial number can be readout. Also additional information about the type of the sensor and calibration data can be stored on the rotor. The sensor signal amplifier can be wound round the shaft. Its thickness of 2,8 mm including the sealing is remarkable. Due to the new kind of installation elegant solutions in narrowed surroundings are possible. Typical applications are the inputshaft of the gear, at the universal shaft, strain measurement at small toothed wheel and the turbo-charger. The sensor signal amplifier uses the proven 16 Bit technique for signal resolution, is extremely precise and can be used for high temperature applications up to 160°C.
