Sensors for ultrafast laser applications at LWOP in Munich

27 April 2017

greenTEG: At Laser World of Photonics in Munich, greenTEG will present power and position sensors for ultrafast laser applications at booth 144, hall A2. Be sure to visit us or contact us to schedule a meeting beforehand.

With an ever increasing need for precision and speed in industrial laser processes, appropriate sensor technology is necessary for measurement and control. greenTEG’s gRAY laser power and position sensors measure laser power independent of wavelength (UV to IR) and in many applications with higher precision than similar sensor technology. Today, greenTEG’s laser power and position sensors are integrated into a wide range of OEM products to monitor processes e.g. in laser sources and high-precision medical and industrial laser systems.

gRAY laser power and position sensors are especially designed for easy OEM integration. In an application note we describe how one of our customers measures laser power in an ultrafast laser source.

In this application case summary we present an overview on how you can benefit from an integration of gRAY sensors into your system.

Measuring the Power of Fiber Lasers

As fiber lasers are now used in many industrial processes, greenTEG developed a unique compact fiber-coupled thermal sensor for such applications. At Laser World of Photonics next June in Munich, greenTEG will present this new sensor which will be available soon.

The gRAY Laser Power and Position Sensor Portfolio

gRAY sensors are available as bare-die, mounted, PCB-mounted, or housed sensors. They measure laser power independent of the wavelength from UV to IR.  A novel and patented design enables us to produce sensors with exceptionally small footprints, therefore making them ideal for OEM systems integration. The smallest sensor in the portfolio measures a mere 2×2 mm2 with a thickness of only 500 µm while having 100% thermopile coverage. Analog amplifiers and analog-to-digital electronics with I²C interface and signal compensation against temperature changes complement our offering. All sensors are fully developed and manufactured by a dedicated team of specialists in Switzerland.
