SENSOR+TEST 2011: The Application of Color Measurement

12 June 2011

Jena, June 8, 2011 – MAZeT GmbH, the provider of development and manufacturing services for embedded computing solutions and optoelectronics in Jena, presented the new Truecolormeter “colorStriker” from Mathai at SENSOR+TEST from June 7-9, 2011, at Booth 322 in Hall 12 of the Nuremburg Exhibition Center. “With this, MAZeT clearly and practically demonstrates exact color measurement with the JENCOLOR color sensors in use on a product,” explains Frank Krumbein, product manager at MAZeT. “We offer interested visitors the opportunity to take selected sample measurements themselves and form their own personal view of the precision and user-friendliness of the colorStriker.”

MAZeT demonstrates Truecolormeter for Color Measurement in Business, Industry, and Service

MAZeT developed all the hardware in the colorStriker, and proves the seasoned JENCOLOR know-how on color measurement in a practical test. The Truecolormeter allows for exact and authentic rendering of the measured colors. It transmits captured color values wirelessly via Bluetooth to a PC for visualization and evaluation. The small, handy color measuring device measures color values from almost any material or surface, like textiles and leather; wall colors and paint; wood, veneer, and paneling; tiles and plastics. The mobile Truecolormeter opens up a range of operational areas, from product, packaging and industrial design; architecture, construction planning, and maintenance; paints and lacquers in specialized trade and building supply stores; to automotive suppliers and manufacturers.

Exact Color Measurement with True Color Sensors from JENCOLOR MAZeT developed the Truecolormeter together with Mathai for exact color measurement. The device is equipped with a mechanism for exact specification of the measuring point. The measuring point is lit with LEDs and continuously measured by a True Color three area sensor. A second sensor determines the point of the most exact measurement and specifies the measured value. The device signals the validity of the measured value with a signal tone and optical display in the user interface. At the same time, the measured value is transmitted wirelessly via Bluetooth to a PC on which the user has an extensive function menu at their disposal. In addition to pure color measurement, storing various comparisons and a broad range of colorimetric evaluations of the measured values, including rendering, are possible. The installed True Color Sensor allows for the small shape of the device and low cost, while at the same time providing the functionality and precise measurement of spectrometer solutions.
