Color measurement according to DIN 5033

Color measurement according to DIN 5033

27 June 2014

Micro-Epsilon has launched a new color sensor for the colorCONTROL ACS7000 spectral measurement system, which is ideal for processes that require standardized color measurement.

The ACS1 standard sensor as well as the ACS2 circular sensor are applied in a measurement geometry of 45°/0° and come as advanced versions of the 30°/0° model. The new measurement geometry enables the system to detect color according to DIN 5033. The sensor resolution is ΔE < 0.08 and its very high measurement frequency of 2,000 Hz enables it to be used in high volume production applications. The measurement spot diameter is 9mm; the ideal measurement distance is 38mm.

Besides the standard sensor 45°/0°, there is the 30°/0° standard sensor and a circular sensor sensor for structured, highly reflective and lustrous metallic surfaces, as well as the transmission sensor for transparent materials.

The colorCONTROL ACS7000 color measurement system is ideally suited to inline quality control applications including paint inspection of cars, interior color measurement, forensic science, films, glass, injection moulding processes, wood processing industries, veneers, textiles and printing industries and medical engineering.
