Massa Products Corporation: MassaSonic® PulStar® Standard Series ultrasonic sensors are ruggedly designed narrow beam transmitting modules that provide reliable constant level or distance measurement of pastes, fluids, or solid materials. PulStar Series Sensors accurately measure within 0.1% over application ranges from 4” (100 mm) to 20' (6 m).  Two cost efficient models are available: PulStar 150 kHz ranges from 4” (100 mm) to 7’ (2.1m) and PulStar 95 kHz from 1’ (300mm) to 13’ (4m).

The PulStar® Series Sensors include sophisticated ultrasonic technology and processing algorithms, so users can obtain precision non-contact distance measurement for applications such as tank level monitoring, process control, factory automation, or object detection applications. False echoes from interference or difficult targets are minimized with processing algorithms and elite transducer properties. The new PulStar® sensors are designed for easy mechanical and electronic interface to the control system of an OEM system integrator. These sturdy sensors operate -40° – 70°C are IP68 rated, RoHS and CE compliant.

PulStar® Plus Series Sensors have NPT mounting fittings and are offered PVDF or PVC housings for use in various environments. All models are provided with continuous temperature compensation to accomplish precise measurement accuracy. Other easy-to-use features include: diagnostic and monitoring outputs, coupled with protection from short circuits, over voltage, and reverse polarity. Functioning from 12 to 24 V DC, PulStar® Series Sensors offer user programmable linear outputs of 0 to 10 V DC, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA, which are relative to the measured distance to the target. The output can also be designed to function as a digital switch within zones prescribed by specified target set-point distances.

PulStar® Plus Sensors are compatible with MS Windows operating systems, and while using USB/RS-485 or RS-232/RS-485 converters, as many as 32 sensors can be connected in parallel onto the same multi-drop communication network. This network also enables users to remotely program their sensors and read target distances for rapid incorporation into control applications.
