Laser sensors with even more flexibility due to new measuring ranges

14 September 2016

Micro-Epsilon: The new optoNCDT 1320 and 1420 laser triangulation sensors from Micro-Epsilon are now even more versatile. Additional measuring ranges of 100mm and 200mm enable even more application possibilities in terms of displacement, distance and position measurement.

The optoNCDT 1320 and 1420 laser triangulation sensors measure displacement, distance and position on a non-contact, wear-free basis. With the additional measuring ranges, the sensors can now be applied in measurement tasks that require a larger measuring range. The optoNCDT 1320 is now available with a 100mm measuring range, the optoNCDT 1420 with additional ranges of 100mm and even 200mm.

The optoNCDT sensors provide high precision measurements along with a compact design, offering high performance across a wide variety of applications. Their innovative design and functionality have now been recognized with the Red Dot Award Industrial Design 2016.

Furthermore, the sensors stand out due to their excellent price/performance ratio, an innovative web interface and their ease of use. The measurement task can be selected using the quality slider and can be further optimized using the video signal display, signal peak selection and individually adjustable signal averaging. The ROI function (region of interest) allows e.g. for interfering signals in the background to be filtered out. The multifunction button enables quick sensor commissioning for easy measurement tasks.

As well as in the electronics production, these laser triangulation sensors are also applied in the packaging industry, wood processing, logistics, medical engineering, laser engraving equipment and machine building.
