Leuze electronic at SPS/IPC/Drives 2016

24 October 2016
Leuze electronic presents Smart Sensor Business 4.0 at SPS/IPC/Drives, the international trade fair for electric automation – systems and components, from November 22-24, 2016, in hall 7a, booth 230 in Nuremberg.

Owen, October 14, 2016 – Leuze electronic will be presenting the diversity of its sensor solutions for electric automation at SPS/IPC/Drives. To present the Smart Sensor Business to the user as realistically as possible, the products and solutions will be shown as they relate to specific industries. The main focus here lies on the areas of intralogistics, the packaging industry, tool manufacturing and the automotive industry. The product innovations can be viewed on a so-called "innovation path". New in the area of binary switching sensors is the KRT 18B contrast sensor. This is a flexible, multicolor sensor, which uses the three LED colors of red, green and blue to automatically determine the color that produces the maximum contrast with the detected mark. As the only data transmission photoelectric sensor in the world, the DDLS 500 features a remote control function that makes location-independent access possible. A key product in the area of identification systems is the new DCR 200i camera-based code reader for the fast decoding of 1D, stacked and 2D-codes. It was specially developed for equipment used in packaging systems, automation, robotics and production. The DCR 200i is now also available in the ECOLAB-certified IP 69K stainless steel housing, thereby also making it ideally suited for the packaging of food and pharmaceutical products. Highlight in the area of safety at work is the RSL 400 safety laser scanner, for which Leuze electronic has won multiple awards this year: first place in the Industry Prize for Optical Technologies, first place in the GIT Safety Award in the area of automation, as well third place in the Handling Award. Furthermore, Leuze electronic has expanded its product range in the area of safety at work with the new safety controls of the MSI 400 product family as well as safety relays of the next generation. These can be used to realize safe, modular and flexible system solutions with a good price/performance ratio for all applications in machine and system construction. In cooperation with Microsoft, Leuze electronic will be presenting an Industry-4.0-capable sensor solution based on the BCL 348i bar code reader.
The process data and metadata of the bar code reader are transmitted directly to the Microsoft Azure Cloud via the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) of the OPC-UA interface without an intermediate gateway. There, the data are captured by the IOT hub and made available to the Azure Cloud Services for analysis and visualization. On the other hand, direct control of the BCL 348i bar code reader is possible via the Azure Cloud Services as a special feature. Trade show visitors can test this Smart Sensor Business 4.0 solution on-site: Leuze electronic - hall 7A, stand 230.
