Low-maintenance PEWATRON CO2/O2 module

Low-maintenance PEWATRON CO2/O2 module

22 June 2012

First module deliverable on a euroboard

The PEWATRON Carbonoxy is the first CO2/O2 module to be available on a euroboard. The NDIR measurement principle is used for CO2, and the zirconia measurement principle is used for O2, which is known for the excellent durability of the sensor. Measurement ranges are available from 0…10/15/30% for the CO2 module, and from 0…25/95% for the O2 module, with a degree of precision of ±2% full scale and a stability of >2% full scale/year.

With a supply of 12...30 VDC and a performance of 6 W, the microcontroller transforms the current gas concentration into an analogue and linear signal of 0/4...20 mA or 0...10 VDC. An RS232 interface (19,200 baud) is also available. Thanks to the various DIP switches, the response time can be adjusted between 1 and 30 seconds, the temperature correction can be activated or a simple, easy-to-use zero-point adjustment can be undertaken. An array of coloured LED signals indicate the current operating conditions. If a massive error occurs, the output signal is blocked. Furthermore, all of the electronics comply with the latest EMV guidelines.
